Month Volume Summary

The reporting periods coincide with HMRC reporting periods: HO10 reports run from 15th to 14th of each month; HO930s cover calendar months.  First, select the correct reported month end (dropdown box).

Your monthly report must include a report for each different road fuel that you have paid duty on. In turn, you should select each fuel type for which you have volumes to report and enter the volumes for that fuel.

Fuel
Code
Description
Biobutanol - BUTYL PXXX BUTYL Biobutanol
Biodiesel - HVO DXXX HVO Hydrogenated vegetable oil
Biodiesel - ME D589 ME Methyl ester including FAME
Biodiesel PPO D589 PPO Pure plant oil regarded as biodiesel for tax purposes
Bioethanol - ETBE P595 ETBE The bio component of ETBE
Bioethanol - EtOH P595 EtOH Bioethanol
Biogas - G591 G591 Biogas

Select the fuel type you wish to report on and then click the Add button.

Alternatively, you can click Copy Last Month, which will pre-populate the fuels and suppliers with all those used in your previous return with zero figures. This can be edited, so fuels and suppliers can still be added or deleted. It only creates entries for the fuel types and trading partners, it does not enter your fuel volumes.

This screen shows a line showing the current state of your month's input. It shows the month's total Fossil Fuel Volume for which you will be obligated, the obligation rate (%) and the number of certificates that this would need, if the obligation worked on a monthly basis (this is for information only - in fact the obligation is only on the total fossil fuel volume for the whole obligation period).

On the right of this line is the number of certificates that to be awarded for this month's biofuels, given the volume input so far this month, and dependant on suitable C&S reports being submitted for the month.

Below this line is a table summarising your month's input to date. For each fuel type it lists the Dutiable Total (the sum of each HMRC form you reported), the sum of the Lifts From Others, your Own Fuel Lifted, the total of Lifts By Others, and the Total Supplied.

Dutiable Total equals Lift From Others plus Own Fuel Lifted
Total Supplied equals Own Fuel Lifted plus Lifted By Others.

Totals are also shown for the sum of the Fossil Fuel volumes and the sum of the Biofuel volumes.

Once you have entered volumes for each fuel and all deferred lifts (if any), you must click on the Submit button at top right. This shows that you are ready to share these numbers with the administrator - you can still edit data after you have submitted.

Once the deadline has been reached for a month, another link appears: Supply/ Lift Tally. Clicking on this leads to a report showing mismatches between what others reported they lifted from your company and what you reported, and between what you reported you lifted from them and what they reported. You should contact your trading partners and resolve these differences as they must be eliminated for certificates to be awarded.

If you have submitted figures for one or more renewable fuel types, you will also need to submit a Carbon & Sustainability Report via the dropdown menu from the Reported Month tab.

Set Month Clicking on this button will retain the same reporting period when you move from the Month Volume Summary screen to the Carbon & Sustainability Report screen and back again.

Back to Current Month Clicking on this button will mean that you move to the current reporting period each time you change from Month Volume Summary to Carbon & Sustainablity Report instead of keeping to the period selected.
