How ROS works:
Under the RTFO, fuel suppliers need to make data returns to the RFA on a monthly basis. This data comprises fuel volumes and carbon and sustainability reports. To facilitate this, the RFA has an IT system called ROS (RFA Operating System).
ROS is a secure database and reporting system. The system also allows the RFA to award certificates to suppliers of biofuel. Once awarded, account holders can trade the certificates with other registered companies.
The end of month and end of year reconciliation periods are facilitated by ROS. The system is administered by a dedicated team at our offices in Hastings.
